Instructions

1. Setup the Valve Index Environment

Make sure your PC is compatible with the Valve Index. You can find a list of recommended specs here. Download the install package from store.steampowered.com and go through the installation wizard. From there, you will need to ensure Steam VR is installed.

2. Download and install a VR video player compatible with the Valve Index

From the Steam application, you can search for and download any compatible VR video player. You can use the compatible video player of your choice. We recommend the following:

  • 1. VivePort Video - is a newer video player for 2D, 3D, 180°, and 360° videos. You can choose to create a VivePort account, or use the application without one.
  • 2. DeoVR - is a straight-forward, high performance video player for 2D, 3D, flat, 180°and 360° videos.
  • 3. Skybox VR - Skybox VR is an ultimate local VR video player which supports video playback from local storage and network shared servers.

3. Download a video to your PC

We try to optimize our videos for every display available, all you have to do is select the right one. Valve Index users should select Valve Index 6K for the best experience.

4. Use the VR video player to play the video

  • 1) After connecting your headset, launch the Steam application.
  • 2) Click the VR button in Steam to launch SteamVR.
  • 3) When in the “home” screen, select the VR video player of your choice.
  • 4) Select the scene you would like to watch.

5. Enjoy the experience
